FirmTech Data Privacy Field Guide:

Ch. 04Doctor sharing

Sharing your TechRing data with a doctor

Last updated: November 2026

Can my doctor see my TechRing data?

Only if you choose: in the FirmTech app you decide who sees your data, and you can stop at any time.

FirmTech built the TechRing so men and their doctors have objective data on sexual and vascular health instead of guesswork. Sharing is off until you turn it on, and switching it off is just as simple.

Why share at all?

Your recordings and Erectile Fitness Score give you and your healthcare provider real data to help diagnose and manage sexual and cardiac health issues. Many men use the TechRing alongside ED medication or other treatments and use the app to see what is working. A doctor can read trends across weeks of nights, which says far more than a single visit.

FirmTech partner clinics can, with a patient's permission, view firmness, duration and nighttime erections between visits. The key words are "with permission": the patient decides.

What controls you keep

  • WhoYou choose the doctor who sees your data.
  • WhenYou can stop sharing at any time.
  • SellingFirmTech never sells your data or shares it with advertisers.
  • DeletionYou can remove your data and account in the app.

Before you share: three steps

  1. Wear the TechRing for several nights so there is a trend, not a single reading.
  2. Log sleep, drinks, workouts and medication in the app so your doctor sees context.
  3. Turn sharing on for your doctor, and turn it off after the visit if you prefer.

This guide is not medical advice. Talk to your doctor about ED and about using a ring with any treatment.

Can my doctor see my TechRing data?
Only if you choose. FirmTech says you decide who sees your data and can stop sharing at any time. FirmTech partner clinics can, with permission, view firmness, duration and nighttime erections between visits. Sharing real numbers can make a conversation with a urologist far more specific than describing symptoms from memory.
Is the TechRing HIPAA compliant?
FirmTech describes its app data as HIPAA compliant, stored securely and handled to HIPAA standards. For background on what HIPAA covers in general, the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services publishes a plain-language guide. For FirmTech specifics, the privacy policy at getfirmtech.com/privacy-policy is the source to read.
Can I use the TechRing with ED medication?
Many men use the TechRing alongside other treatments and use the app to see what is working, according to FirmTech. You can log medication in the app and compare nights. Talk to your doctor about your specific situation, especially before combining treatments.
Where do I start if I need help with ED?
Start with a doctor, because ED can be an early sign of other health issues. SingleCare reports that men with ED have twice the risk of heart attacks and strokes, around 6% versus around 3%, yet only 25% of men with ED receive treatment. A drug-free erection ring can support performance, and the TechRing adds data you can bring to that appointment.
Why does privacy matter so much for ED data?
Erection data is some of the most personal health information a person can track. The FirmTech app page describes it exactly that way and says the company treats it accordingly. ED is also common: SingleCare reports that about 24% of U.S. men experience ED, rising to as high as 52% in men aged 75 and older, so many men have a stake in how this data is handled.
Can I export my TechRing data?
Yes. FirmTech lists data export as one of the requests handled through its privacy route at legal@myfirmtech.com, answered within 30 days. Say that you want an export of your TechRing data. If you want to show your numbers to a doctor rather than download them, the app also lets you choose to share your data with them.
